Thematic groups
There will be 12 thematic groups, under four main organizing themes, and the section on cross-thematic activities, special symposia and panel presentations under the 13th thematic group:

- Gendered Discourses (including women and Islam etc)

- Educating Professionals (Health, Law, Police) and including HIV/AIDS, comparative law, managing staff from different cultural groups)
- Indigenous learning
- Learning in and out of classrooms (including citizenship education, life-long learning, art, music)

For each thematic group, there will be an International Convenor
(IC), a Regional Convenor (RC), supported by a Local Convenor (LC).
*** Please note: Enquiries about the themes of any of the thematic groups can be sent to any convenor, but the Abstract must be submitted through the website on the appropriate form, not sent to the Convenor. The Thematic Group should be stated on the proposal, but if you are not sure where it belongs (there are inevitably overlaps), put a question mark and/or consult the relevant convenors beforehand.
